Future Road Connection: Viera's Master Plan Set to Reach Washingtonia Drive
Posted on Sep 10th, 2026

If you've driven to the end of Washingtonia Drive, you've seen it: the road just stops in a small cul-de-sac at the edge of the trees, with nothing but vacant, undeveloped land beyond it toward I-95.
That's set to change. Viera's official Master Plan (legend dated 10/2025) shows a road called the Proposed Lake Andrew Drive Extension running south from the Atlin Cove and Restore At Viera communities, paralleling I-95, and exiting right at the edge of Viera's mapped boundary — just north of our neighborhood.
Lining that plan up with the current satellite view of the land north of Enclave, the match is hard to miss: a cleared trail and reserved tree-lined corridor crosses that vacant parcel and comes down almost exactly at Washingtonia Drive's current dead end.

What this could mean: once that phase of Viera's build-out reaches this area, Washingtonia Drive would go from a dead end to a through street, giving the Enclave a second connection into the broader Viera/Melbourne road network. That's typically good news for things like emergency vehicle access, evacuation routes, and everyday traffic flow.
A few important caveats: on Viera's own map, that stretch of land is still labeled "Future Development" and "Future Residential," so there's no firm timeline yet — our best estimate, based on the pace of nearby construction, is roughly a year or so out, but that's an estimate, not a confirmed date. This comparison is also built from Viera's own marketing master plan artwork (illustrative, not a surveyed engineering drawing) laid alongside current Google satellite imagery, not an official GIS overlay. Road names, exact alignments, and timing can and do change as master-planned communities build out in phases. We'll share updates here as more concrete information becomes available from Brevard County or the Viera Company.
